Just Desserts has expanded its offering of plant based Vegan products, which it introduced at the EXPO West food show in Anaheim, California. Following the launch of the Vegan Midnight Chocolate Cake, the company has introducing a “Chocolate Dipped Vegan Vanilla Bundt Cake” and a “Vegan Vanilla Black and White Cupcake.”
Michael Mendes, CEO of Just Desserts noted, “Plant based foods grew 20% over last year, exceeding $3.3billion and growing 10x faster than overall food sales” according to the Plant Based Food Association. Just Desserts’ new plant based product line is the fastest growing of all products in the company portfolio for the past three years.”
What’s more, Just Desserts is now certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union (OU-D). The OU (Orthodox Union) is the world’s largest and most widely recognized kosher certification agency, certifying over 800,000 products produced in more than 9,011 plants located in 104 countries around the world.
The OU, termed a “coveted seal of approval” by The New York Times, is one of the world’s best-known trademarks. Comparing it to the UL®, Forbes magazine wrote, “If you want to know your food is kosher, you can look for the Orthodox Union’s OU symbol.”
David Baffoni, General Manager and VP of Operations for Just Desserts, led the effort to earn the Kosher Certification and selected the Orthodox Union to certify the facility. “The Orthodox Union has an exceptional reputation in the food industry. The process of earning OU certification is challenging, but it is regarded as one of the highest standards for Kosher Certification by our customers.”
