This Vegan Thai Flan tastes and looks exactly like the perfect dessert to enjoy after a romantic dinner — or just about any time at all!

Flan’s history dates back to ancient Roman times when it became, allegedly, the first known civilization to domesticate chickens for farming. With an abundance of eggs, the Romans began creating dishes that featured the edible egg as its main ingredient.

Hence the birth of flan.

Originally, they used to serve it as a savory dish. Then, cooks soon began experimenting with a sweet version that was flavored with honey and its popularity soared.

It gets its name from the French word flaon, which comes from the Old German flado, a “flat cake”– because of the shape.

Khanom mo kaeng is a traditional Thai dessert. It is similar to an egg custard or a kind of flan. Traditional flan uses egg yolks, cream and processed sugar.

Luckily for the animals and our health, there is absolutely no need to use animal products or sugar in our recipe!

Our Vegan News Daily Thai Flan will leave your taste buds dancing, your body feeling light and your heart happy from not eating animal products!
