Colorado-based Planterra Foods plans to take a bite out of the plant-based protein market with the debut of its introductory line, OZO™.
Available in retail outlets and direct-to-consumers via e-commerce, the new plant-based protein comes in the form of OZO Burgers (two-4 oz patties), Ground (12 oz), and Mexican-Seasoned Ground (12 oz).
The company notes that OZO is “made with transparent, straightforward and no artificial ingredients,” are are certified vegan and non-GMO.
Powered by an exclusive proprietary blend of pea and rice protein fermented by shiitake mushrooms, all of the new OZO products deliver up to 22 grams of protein per serving.
What’s more, the Planterra says they contain no cholesterol and less calories, fat and saturated fat than 80% lean ground beef.
